10 Days Imperial Cities Tour and Desert, Departure from Casablanca

 DAY 1: CASABLANCA – RABAT:

Land at Casablanca airport where we will meet you and drive to Casablanca then to Rabat (the capital of Morocco). In Casablanca, you will visit some sites including Hassan II Mosque (the largest in North Africa and the third of its kind in the world) and experience a stroll alongside Cornish coastline. A short time later, we will drive to Rabat. Here, you have the opportunity to visit Hassan Tower and the Oudaya Kasbah. After a wonderful journey between two cities, you will check in a riad where you will have dinner and spend overnight.  

DAY 2: RABAT – MEKNES – VOLUBILIS – FES:

After breakfast at your accommodation, you will continue your tour with driving toward Fes via Meknes and Volubilis. In Meknes, another huge supreme city in Morocco, will get to visit the gateway to the medina Bab Mansour, Sahrij Souani Bassin, and the Mulay Ismail Mausoleum. After having a typical lunch at one of the local restaurants, your wonderful journey proceeds with driving to visit the ruins of the ancient Roman city: Volubilis. Here, you will have the opportunity to see the brilliant protected unique mosaics, Roman street and city architecture. Then, we will head to the Holy City of Moulay Idriss for an amazing photograph opportunity. In the early evening, you will arrive at Fez city. At a riad, you will have dinner and spend overnight.

 

DAY 3: EXPLORING FES

After having breakfast at your accommodation, you will start an explorative journey to the Medina where you will visit the many cultural and historical sites including Al Karaouine University: first established university on the planet. You will also be guided to visit Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, the Nejjarine Fountains and the Tanneries. After having lunch, you will head to see the outside of the Royal Palace and stroll through the renowned Jewish quarter “the Mellah” where you will be able to visit one of the synagogues in Morocco if you want to. Your journey includes enjoying the fascinating Medina’s view and a visit to the well-known ceramic factory. In the afternoon, we will visit the modern town and have a drink (coffee, tea…). Your accommodation will be a riad (BB).

DAY 4: FES – AZROU – MIDLET – ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA:

After having breakfast at the riad, you will leave towards Merzouga. During this voyage, you will encounter traveling along several Berber villages and enjoying the landscapes of the Middle Atlas and High Atlas Mountains. On the way, we will be making a stop to visit Cedar Forests, the largest woodland in Morocco, over the Middle Atlas Mountains–where you will have the opportunity to see monkeys around. After lunch at a local restaurant in Midelt, the journey proceeds through the rich Ziz Valley and the Tafilalet date palm groves. This region is one of the Alaouite (the royal family) dynasties in Morocco. You will arrive at Merzouga in the early evening. After you are warmly invited to a glass of mint tea, you will be guided to check in your riad. Half-Board.

DAY 5: MERZOUGA AREA AND THE CAMEL TREK :

you will begin an explorative adventure of Merzouga desert after breakfast at the accommodation. You’ll visit the Gnawa individuals to encounter their unique music and way of life. You may likewise visit the souk in Rissani , which is an authentic  town that was the first dynasty ever of the Royal family. Back to the town of Merzouga for some rest. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a camel trek guided by a camel man to explore the golden sand duness of Merzouga. Overnight and dinner will be at our desert camp (HB).

DAY 6 : MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGES – DADES VALLEY :

In the early morning, the camel guide will wake you up to watch be the fascinating sunrise over the high sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will trek back to the town of Merzouga. Enroute you couldn’t neglect to value the remarkable excellence of the dynamite Erg Chebbi sand ridges – changing with the light as the day advances. After breakfast and shower at your riad, you’ll leave for Rissani , Tinghir, and Todra gorges – the most noteworthy, tightest crevasses in Morocco. After lunch in the core of the canyon we’ll pass through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the lofty sand strongholds and the stunning stone formation that is known as “monkey toes”. Overnight and dinner at a guesthouse in Dades valley. (HB).

DAY 7: DADES VALLEY – AIT BEN HADDOU – TIZI N’TICHKA PASS – MARRAKECH :

After breakfast, we will drive through the Dades Valley and Kalaat Mgouna towards Ouarzazat. The path via Dades Valley is goes through the Road of Thousand Kasbahs. That gives you various chances to take your best photographic shots of the excursion. We will make a stop in Kalaat Mgouna, “the Valley of Roses”, where you will enjoy this fascinating area and you may want to purchase some rosewater. Before driving to Marrakech, we will visit the World Heritage Site: Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. It is one of the last Berber chieftains during the eighteenth century that was built by Ethami El Glaoui. On the way to Marrakech, we will drive through the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m) over the High Atlas Mountains enjoying the stunning landscapes and the brilliant views that the road offers. Overnight and dinner will be at riad/hotel (BB).

DAY 8 : EXPLORING MARRAKECH :

After having breakfast at the riad, you will appreciate a morning guided tour to Marrakech (the Red City of Morocco). Your experienced guide will guarantee that you will visit Marrakech’s monuments and sites such as the Koutoubia Minaret; the Saadian tombs; the delightful Palace of Bahia and the Coranic School Madrassa Ben Youssef. The morning comes to an end by taking a stroll through the medina back streets – getting an opportunity to admire the entirety of the various craftsman showing their artworks before we head to Jamaa El Fna Square. Lunch at a local restaurant near the square. Then, the tour continues with visiting the Majorelle plants, and have a short visit at Gueliz (the new townof Marrakech). After having a nice dinner, you will have the alternative to stroll through the square engaged by entertainers, story-tellers, tooth-pullers and nourishment merchants. Overnight will be at your accommodation (BB).

DAY 9 : DAY TRIP TO ESSAOUIRA :

After breakfast, you will be ready to enjoy a tour to Essaouira city. Arriving after around a 2-and-a-half-hour drive. In this historical and cultural city, you will have the chance to visit the Skala Fortress; see Thuya wood; stroll through the narrow streets of the medina (UNESCOWORLD HERITAGE). Essaouira is called “the City of the Wind”. It is an attraction for surfers from everywhere throughout the world. Essaouira witnessed numerous civilisations like the Portuguese occupation which has influenced its engineering. During this wonderful journey, you will be guided to visit the ladies’ co-operative of Argan oil. In this interesting place, they extricate the oil. It is well known for its culinary, restorative and therapeutic properties. Lunch will be served the Moroccan way – fresh fish “cooked all together” at the small port of Essaouira. After a great time in Essaouira, we will drive back to Marrakech. Overnight at your riad. (BB).

DAY 10 : MARRAKECH – CASABLANCA AIRPORT :

After an early breakfast, we will drive you to the airport of Casablanca/Marrakech. Our services come to an end.
