ATLAS MOUNTAINS DAY TRIP FROM MARRAKECH ITINERARY
1 DAY: MARRAKECH – AGAFAY DESERT – TOUBKAL NATIONAL PARK
your 4×4 driver will meet you at your accommodation, your day outing to the Atlas Mountains from Marrakech will begin with a drive south of the city through the Haouz fields to Agafay desert.
From here, appreciate some off the beaten track drive to the pool of Lalla Takerkoust where you will stop to appreciate the view and take photographs.
A discretionary 30 minutes camel ride will be your next stop at the inclines of the Atlas Mountains before you proceed with your drive through the precipitous Kik Plateau admiring the views over the Berber villages.
Fadma is a Berber woman who was benevolent enough to have our visitors for a tea function at her modest mud block house. She will heat homemade bread for you also, to dunk into additional olive oil. Afterwards, we will carry on through harsh landscapes to Imlil town, where we will leave to ”Armed”, which is a Berber village situated at the core of Toubkal National Park, well known for its astonishing views overlooking Toubkal Mountains (4.167 m high).
After a heavenly Berber Tagine lunch served by a friendly family in ”Armed” Village, dive back to Imlil, and a drive back to Marrakech through Tahennaout where the traditional market (souk) is help every Tuesday.
Your Atlas Mountains day excursion will come to an end around 16h00 with dropping you off at your accommodation in Marrakech.
